      • THINKING FROM THE SOIL UP!

"Soil is the source of life, the foundation of all human nourishment and civilization" -

        Satish Kumar

      • CONNECTING, ADVANCING, MEDIATING

At Regenerate, we bring together regenerative pioneers and decision-makers to embed the principle of regeneration in culture, society, and the economy. Our starting point is the soil, the foundation of all life. Together, we shape the transformation towards a regenerative future.

We recognize connections, create links and facilitate understanding - for a sustainable and livable world.

      • THE TRANSITION FROM EXTRACTIVE TO REGENERATIVE

We are increasingly recognizing that our economy, culture, and society need to be rethought, reinvented, and reshaped – in a word, regenerated. The goal of REGENERATE is precisely this: to advance the transition from an extractive to a regenerative economy, culture, and society.

        Resource Extraction

Today, we live in a non-circular system where resources are taken from the ecosystem.

        Ecological Imbalance

At the same time, we do not give back enough. The ecosystems are becoming increasingly weaker.

        Regenerative Future

Our goal is to balance resource extraction by devoloping circular, regenerative systems.

      • What does REGENERATIVE mean?

We can experience regeneration firsthand through agriculture, forestry and water management:

        Regenerative Agriculture

By maximizing photosynthesis, the soil is nourished. Examples of regenerative methods include minimizing soil disturbance, increasing plant diversity, maintaining year-round soil cover, and integrating animals.

        Regenerative Forestry

Regenerative forestry follows the natural development process of forests: it starts with promoting weeds, grasses, and herbs, followed by shrubs and pioneer trees, ultimately creating healthy, long-lasting forests that provide full climate benefits.

        Regenerative Water Management

By restoring wetlands and reintroducing rivers to their original courses, rainwater can be retained on the land, carbon can be sequestered, biodiversity can be promoted, and extreme flooding can be mitigated.

      • “

Regeneration means putting life at the center of every action and decision. It applies to all of creation – grasslands, farms, people, forests, fish, wetlands, coastlands, and oceans – it applies equally to families, communities, cities, schools, religions, cultures, commerce and governments. (…) Regeneration is not only about bringing the world back to life; it is about bringing each of us back to life.

        “

        Paul Hawken
