Lake Constance Project
Regional Lighthouse Project Lake Constance Region
The Lake Constance region is suitable for a regenerative transformation project for many reasons. The area is economically characterized by a large number of successful medium-sized family businesses. In addition, four countries meet here along - Liechtenstein, Austria, Switzerland and Germany - which are closely connected via the Rhine and Lake Constance lifelines.
For the regeneration in the Lake Constance region, we rely on the power of the connection between family businesses and regenerative agriculture, which releases the self-healing forces and the creative potential of the people and initiatives of this region. For this purpose, we cultivate conditions, processes and encounters in the Lake Constance region for the emergence of regenerative clusters and collaborative alliances.
As a first step, Regenerate conducted interviews with about 50 farmers (conventional, organic) and food processors on the German and Swiss side of Lake Constance to better understand the general starting point of farmers and processors and their readiness to apply regenerative approaches.
Subsequently, a Workshop was held in November 2022 at Schloss Arenenberg in the canton of Thurgau with all survey participants together with their life partners to evaluate whether, and if so, how Regenerate's transformational approach can be a viable and meaningful path.
Soil Practitioner Course
Cross-national exchange in the Lake Constance region
Fertile and healthy soils are the basis for sustainable agriculture and the livelihood of our economy and society.
The Regenerate Soil Practitioner Course enables you, as experienced practitioners, to independently assess the site potential of your land and develop strategies for sustainable, regenerative management. You will gain expert knowledge, view the soil from different perspectives and recognize interrelationships. Do-it-yourself soil tests, insights into diverse regenerative management methods, and your own project work will help you apply your newly gained knowledge to your farm.
Notification of Soil Practitioner Course 2025
Next year, in 2025, our transnational soil practitioner course will take place in the Lake Constance region for the second time. With a maximum of 20 participants, in the
period from February to November. Dates and speakers will be announced shortly.
Further information and the possibility to reserve a place now can be found under the section Bodenpraktiker on our German website (in German only).
Soil Working Groups
Rural Working Communities for Farmers around Lake Constance
In the Regenerate Soil Working Groups, farmers from about seven farms each come together over a period of about 18 months to regularly exchange technical and personal information, to support each other in implementing forward-looking regenerative soil management on their farms, and to solve current challenges together.
The Working Groups operate in a highly self-responsible and self-organized manner. In order to ensure their goal orientation and efficiency, they are supported by professional moderators and, if required, by experts (in the context of consulting and further training).
Fertile and healthy soils are the basis for sustainable agriculture and the livelihood of our economy and society.Further information and the opportunity to register for participation in the Project: section Boden-AGs on our German website (in German only).
