Nikki Silvestri

Social Impact Strategist

Regenerative change is more than just about making our system more environmentally friendly. This is the message of Nikki Silvestri, a nationally recognized thought leader from Oakland, USA. Regeneration, instead, is a radical movement that is to take center stage and alter the structures of capitalism and globalization altogether.

Silvestri is a Consultant for businesses and leaders around the intersection of ecology, economy, and social equity. As an African-American, direct descendant of slaves and historian, she argues that our current and past systems thrive on exploitation. It started with imperialism and colonialism and the exploitation of land and people. It continued with capitalism and globalization and the exploitation of cheap foreign labor, more land and therefore our soil.

To stop that exploitation and the destruction of our earth, a structural revolution is inevitable. Silvestri’s theories are widely recognized as vital to tomorrow’s solutions. Her work has taken her to presentations at the White House and negotiations with the Environmental Protection Agency as well as countless workshops with local businesses. Her many honors include being named one of The Root's 100 Most Influential African Americans.
